Terms of Service

Effective 10 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and SmritiOS for using SmritiOS at smritios.com. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you use SmritiOS for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

1. The service

SmritiOS joins or processes your meetings, produces transcripts, summaries and action items, and provides workspaces, channels, tasks, a calendar and search. We keep improving it, so features can change. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and give us accurate details.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us at once if you think someone else has access.
  • Workspace owners and admins decide who joins their workspace and what members can do in it.

3. Recording meetings: your responsibility

You may send the bot to, or upload a recording of, only meetings you are entitled to record. Before you do, you must tell every participant that the meeting will be recorded and transcribed, and get any consent that the law, your employer or the meeting host requires. The bot joins as "SmritiOS Notetaker" so participants can see it, but telling them is on you. Do not use SmritiOS to record people secretly or unlawfully.

4. Your content

  • You own what you put into SmritiOS: recordings, transcripts, messages, tasks and images. We do not claim ownership.
  • You give us permission to host, process and display that content, and to send it to the providers listed in the Privacy Policy, only to run the service for you.
  • You promise you have the right to upload it and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
  • We do not use your meeting content to train our own AI models.

5. AI output can be wrong

Transcripts, summaries, decisions, owners and answers are generated by AI and can contain mistakes, especially with noisy audio, accents or mixed languages. Check anything important before you act on it. Do not rely on the service for legal, medical or other decisions where an error could cause serious harm.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or infringe or violate anyone's rights, including privacy rights;
  • upload malware, or try to break, probe or overload the service or its security;
  • access another workspace's data, or use the service to send spam or harass people;
  • scrape or resell the service, or build a competing product from it;
  • use automated means to create accounts or to use the service beyond your plan's limits.

We may suspend content or accounts that break these rules.

7. Google sign-in and Calendar

If you sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar, you also agree to Google's terms for your Google account. Calendar access is read-only and optional, and you can disconnect it at any time. How we use that data is in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

8. Plans and payment

Every new workspace can use SmritiOS free for 30 days. After that period, existing meetings and notes stay available to view, but creating new meetings, bot joins and uploads may be paused until a paid plan is available and chosen. We may add paid plans. Prices are in Indian rupees and any applicable tax (such as GST) is added where required. Before you are charged for anything, we will show you the price, billing period and renewal terms, and you will have to confirm. We may change plans, limits or prices for the future with reasonable notice.

9. Availability

We work to keep SmritiOS running, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may pause the service for maintenance or because of problems outside our control, including our providers.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using SmritiOS at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@smritios.com. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, put the service or others at risk, or the law requires it. Sections that by nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law) continue after the account ends.

11. Disclaimers and limits on our liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted use, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. If your use causes a claim

You are responsible for claims that arise from content you upload or meetings you record without the required consent, and you agree to cover our reasonable losses from such claims.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts at Mysuru, Karnataka. We would rather settle things first, so please write to us before starting a claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using SmritiOS after the change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
